Vet Interview

Our interviewee was a member of the home front during World fight II. During this time period their were many changes made to accommodate the state of state of war effort. There were many instances of war rationing in evidence to preserve precious war materials such as oil, food, and nerve all of which were needed in great quantities for the troops. My grandpa, John Hovie, was in eighth grade when war was declared on Japan. He lived in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He remembered coming home from school and his father turning on the radio and hearing the news that they had been attacked. To him, his family, and really the entire soil this came as a surprise.
